-
Porches, Decks, Sidewalks & Driveways
-

What
is the Cost?
(FAQ)
Inspection fees
will vary based on the type of structure, and whether a complete or partial
inspection is requested. "The cost should not be a major factor in
the decision whether or not to have the building inspected". An unbiased
inspection may be worth many times the fee when revealing the positive
and/or negative condition of the building. For an individual quote,

Why
do I need a Building Inspection?
(FAQ)
The purchase of a home or building is generally the largest single
investment an average person will make. It is important to know the
condition of that investment, from all aspects, both positive and negative,
and what might be expected, prior to finalizing the details of the transaction.
After the inspection, there is a much clearer understanding of what
is involved and what is to be expected, thus leaving the buying decision
to be made with greater confidence.
Also, for a current home or building owner, an inspection can identify
potential future problems where preventative measures may help avoid future
costly repairs. This is why more owners are having their homes and
systems inspected on a periodic basis.
Purchasers of new homes may also benefit by obtaining the services a
professional inspector before closing the sale.
Before closing the sale, the buyer holds all the leverage. After the
closing, if the builder doesn't correct "call backs", the buyer only has
recourse to the courts.
Can
I do it myself ?
(FAQ)
Even the most experienced home owner lacks the knowledge and expertise
of a professional building inspector. Most do it yourself homeowners
find it very difficult to remain completely objective and impartial about
the property they are about to purchase, due to the "emotional high" of
having made a major decision/commitment. This could lead to a biased,
inaccurate evaluation.
